Is the BetterU Bar Legit?
We’re not convinced that the BetterU Bar is legitimate. Sure, this chocolate bar may induce psychoactive effects, but it’s unlikely to contain psilocybin from natural sources. Even if it does utilize genuine magic mushrooms, the quality and consistency of these bars are awful.
Although we’ve found a few good traits of the BetterU Bar, we’ve also uncovered several red flags while researching this “shroom” brand.
Let’s take a look at the good and the bad of the BetterU Bar:
Red Flags:
The first red flag is the vendors selling these chocolate bars. Pop-up vendors appear with these bars alongside other sketchy products such as the PolkaDot chocolates, fake Neau Tropics gummies, and Wonka shroom bars.
The second red flag is the “BetterU Bar” packaging on Alibaba. Anyone can purchase packaging with this branding, meaning anyone can manufacture and sell “BetterU Bars.” This makes the brand extremely risky because you have no guarantee of who made the chocolate or what exactly is in it.
The third red flag is the lack of information on ingredients. As it stands, I haven’t found a single vendor that states which type of “magic mushroom” is used in the chocolates, nor have I found an extensive ingredient list. There’s no third-party lab data to back up potency claims either.
Finally, the fourth red flag is this brand doesn’t have a website or any official social media accounts that can be used to assess its legitimacy. It’s common for shroom brands to operate under the radar, but most legitimate manufacturers have some kind of online presence.
Green Flags:
Although BetterU Bars raised several red flags during our research into the brand, it’s not all bad.
Although we believe these chocolate bars don’t contain psilocybin from magic mushrooms, a few first-hand reviews praise the BetterU Bar’s ability to induce psychedelic effects.
One seemingly legitimate Colorado-based vendor — Promoco DC — sells BetterU Bars along with a range of genuine dried shrooms and cannabis flowers. This vendor also sells PolkaDot and other “red flag brands,” which is strange given their reasonably good reputation. Promoco DC may be packaging genuine shroom chocolates on BetterU Bar packaging, but it’s impossible to know whether they’re any different from the edibles offered elsewhere.
The Potency of the BetterU Bar
The BetterU Bars are labeled to have 4000 mg — or 4 grams — of magic mushrooms per bar. Each one is divided into 15 segments, with around 260 mg per piece.
As mentioned, we’re not convinced that these chocolate bars contain psilocybin mushrooms. Instead, we believe they contain a research chemical such as 4-AcO-DMT. Although compounds like this can induce a psychedelic experience similar to psilocybin, the effects can be unpredictable. It’s impossible to know exactly how potent each square of the BetterU Bar is.
We recommend avoiding this chocolate bar and opting for something more trustworthy from a brand that’s meticulous about dosage. If you do decide to consume a BetterU Bar regardless, do so with caution. Start with a low dose and work up gradually, being attentive to the effects.

The only legitimate dispensary selling shroom chocolate branded as the “BetterU Bar” is Promoco DC. This company may have purchased empty packaging and filled it with their own shroom chocolate, but it’s impossible to know for sure.
Despite Promoco DC’s positive reputation, the BetterU Bar is still a high-risk product. It’s best to avoid this brand, regardless of where it’s purchased from.
Alternatives to the BetterU Bar
Although the BetterU Bar isn’t particularly appealing, there are a handful of legitimate brands out there that are manufacturing high-quality shroom chocolates.
