List of Music Festivals 2023
There are few places as freeing as music festivals. Psychedelic music festivals can be even more liberating — with more than just music on offer.
While any event centered around music and art is usually a good place to engage with psychedelics, the quintessential psytrance music festival — usually involving a few nights camping — is considered the holy grail of the psychedelic experience.
Below are some of the biggest and best psychedelic-friendly music festivals around the world.
Please note: Psychedelics are illegal in most parts of the world, and while many festivals turn a blind eye to illicit drug use, there’s still an inherent risk to attending or taking drugs at these events. It’s also common to see a police presence at these events, but they generally only step in if they see people “selling” drugs.

Unfortunately, the Dutch Court revoked Psy-Fi’s permit last year, and they’re fighting to get the permit back for this year. The festival has historically been met with backlash from the government because “it promotes the use of psychedelic substances” — something the Dutch government wants to avoid considering their relaxed drug laws.
The festival hasn’t been confirmed for this year, but the Psy-Fi team and its lawyers are working hard to bring the popular festival back this year. Let’s hope they make it happen.

However, the festival pulled through, and it’s one of the most diverse on the planet — bringing artists to over 30 countries during its tour.
This international arts festival brings people from a variety of cultures together. Known as “the world’s festival,” it’s a place for everyone. It’s WOMAD’s 41st anniversary this year — there will be music from artists across the globe (lineup TBA), several cultural workshops, and areas for children and families.
This isn’t your typical “psychedelic” festival, but one of culture that unites people. Spiritual, open-minded, nature-oriented people will enjoy this festival.

Tribal Gathering 2023
- Genre: Psytrance, Techno, Tribal
- Organizer: GeoParadise
- Dates: October 10 – 16, 2023
- Cost: $230
- Location: Panama — exact location TBA

Tribal Gathering is an annual event that occurs in Panama. This festival is a Latin American art, music, indigeneity, and nature experience. Local tribal communities are brought together, and indigenous tribal representatives host talks on many important topics.
There will be plenty of performances, acts, indigenous rituals, workshops, and dance floors at this year’s event, but the “main event” hasn’t been set up by the organizers.
This year, on October 14, Panama will experience an annular eclipse, where the moon covers the center of the sun, leaving an annulus of light (ring of fire) surrounding it. This festival coincides with the celestial event, and the organizers have chosen the perfect spot in the highlands on the southern side of Panama to witness it.
The organizers hope to keep this festival a “family-sized” gathering, so get your tickets soon.
